West Colorado Springs is a place with character. Few other places in the region have such a diversity of people and cultures, all in the shadow of the mighty Pikes Peak. West Colorado Springs is a rich combination of neighborhoods built from the beginning of the 1900's to current, all within a breathtaking setting. Many foreclosed townhomes and condos can be found here under $90K, while foreclosed single family homes begin in the low 100's.
There are several very attractive neighborhoods on the 'Westside' as the locals like to call it. Pleasant Valley offers peaceful suburban homes built from the 50's to the 80's and offers quiet streets lined with massive trees. Holland Park offers townhomes and condos; some of which have been built recently; as well as suburban single-family homes built in the 60's and 70's and is a hotbed for amazing foreclosure deals. Cedar Heights and Kissing Camels are very upscale, gated communities with incredible views.
Western Colorado Springs is the setting that people envision when thinking of Colorado Springs and the Pikes Peak Region. The jewel of the Westside is, of course, the Garden of the Gods; a national natural landmark. Miles of trails and paths intertwine through the towering sandstone spires offering hiking, mountain biking, rock climbing, a visitor center and the world famous Garden of the Gods Trading Post. Just to the south of the Garden is also Red Rock Canyon, which offers many miles of trails, rock climbing, a dog park and a bike skills park. This is where the locals go to escape the crowds in Garden of the Gods! Another popular place among the locals is Ute Valley Park which is just a few minutes to the north.
While West Colorado Springs sits peacefully among the foothills and valleys above the rest of the city, there are still plenty of roads to access the rest of town and the military bases. Garden of the Gods road to the north provides easy access to restaurants and shopping, I-25 and the Air Force Academy, as well as the east side. Uintah St. connects with Uintah Gardens Shopping area, I-25 and Fort Carson as well as Downtown. These are all connected by 30th st, which also runs south to the quaint shops and festivals of Old Colorado City and Hwy 24. To the west is Manitou Springs with all of its eclectic shops and remarkable restaurants.
There is no doubt that West Colorado Springs is the place to be. With its unparalleled setting, eclectic neighborhoods, world famous parks and open spaces along with great schools and commuting access, it is a great place to find an amazing foreclosure deal.
