Manitou Springs is an amazing combination of small, mountain-town living with all the amenities of a major metropolitan area just down the road. Hundreds of people come from the world over to taste the springs and enjoy some of the other attractions here, including the Pikes Peak Cog Railway, Cave of the Winds, Cliff Dwellings Museum and the Old-Time Penny Arcade. Some of the best restaurants are located here as well including Adam's Mountain Cafe, The Cliff House Restaurant and Mona Lisa Fondue Restaurant.
There are several areas to get away from the crowds in Manitou Springs. One of the local favorites is the Manitou Incline which is a steep hike straight up a mountain on old railroad ties. The Red Rock Canyon Open Space is just to the east and features many miles of trails, excellent mountain biking, a bike skills parks, rock climbing and an off-leash dog park. The historic Garden of the Gods is just to the north of Manitou Springs as well.
Manitou Springs has its own school District, Manitou Springs District 14. This cutting edge school district is currently providing an Ipad to all students in Grades 5th - 12th to help them with their studies.
With its roots sunk deep into the history of the Pikes Peak Region and tons of area attractions, Manitou Springs is a great place to visit.
